It is recommended to update using your phone: Go to the Device Manager (or type in *#0000# on the home screen), select Options and then select Check for updates. If you are told no updates are found, check back again later. Follow the on-screen prompts and wait until the update has finished. A big green checkmark will be displayed on update completion.

Nokia Friend View is a social location and micro-blogging service that helps you keep up with your close friends. With Friend View, it is fun to share what you do and feel, and you can easily do this from home, work, or on the go.

You can download Friend View for your phone and use it on the go!
Let your friends know where you are and what you're up to, and find out what's up any time.

Friend View is currently available in two versions:

• S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 and 2 phones. It has been tested on Nokia 5320 XpressMusic, 6110 Navigator, 6210 Navigator, N95, N95 8GB, N82, N96, E71 and E90.
• S60 3rd Edition (initial release) phones. It has been tested on Nokia N80 and E61.

Although not tested yet, Friend View should work also in other S60 3rd Edition phones. Furthermore Friend View uses Integrated GPS, Bluetooth GPS and Network Based positioning when available.

Please note that when you use Friend View on your phone, it keeps a data connection open all the time, so we recommend that you only use it if you have a 'flat rate' data plan. Please read the End-User Software Agreement before installing Friend View on your phone.

DOS Emulator for Symbian

Do you want to run PC/XT application (Intel x86 based code) in your Symbian OS powered cellphone, including in your brand new Nokia N96 phone? Yes, you can! Currently there are many options available, including using JPC Emulator written in Java or using XTM PC Emulator for EPOC32.

JPC

JPC is a pure Java emulation of an x86 PC with fully virtual peripherals. It runs over Java Virtual Machine, with the bullet-proof security and stability of Java technology.

JPC creates a virtual computer upon which you can install your favorite operating system in a safe, flexible and powerful way. XTM PC Emulator for EPOC32

XTM is a software emulation of a classic PC/XT computer for the Symbian operating system. You can run any software which would run on a low-end PC/XT clone from the 1980's.
